Branthwaite Academy are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join their team!
In this role, you will work under the direction of the class teacher (or a TA leading the class in the short-term absence of the teacher) to implement planning and assessment. You will work with individual pupils or small groups to deliver bespoke and tailored learning that supports pupil progress and development.
Key Responsibilities:

Work under the supervision of the class teacher (or the TA covering the class in their absence) to deliver planned activities to individuals and small groups, breaking learning into manageable steps to support access and understanding.

Support the development of pupils’ literacy skills across all lessons.

Establish positive relationships with the pupils and encourage them to interact with others and engage in activities

Promote independent learning and help pupils build their independence skills.

Plan and lead lunchtime activities as scheduled.

Liaise regularly with class teachers to ensure consistency and effectiveness in supporting pupil outcomes.

Facilitate play and social interactions during playtimes and lunchtimes.

Promote pupils’ social and emotional well being, modelling positive behaviours aligned with the school’s Behaviour Policy

Support social interaction during playtimes and lunchtimes and facilitate structured activities as timetabled.

Prepare the classroom for lessons, ensuring resources are available and cleared away throughout and at the end of the day

Assist with the general care of pupils, including administering medication and supporting those who are unwell or distressed.

Actively supervise and engage with pupils during unstructured time and transition periods.
- Contribute to pupil progress reports and participate in review meetings.

Monday: 8:30am - 4pm
Tuesday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
Wednesday: 8:30am - 4pm
Thursday: 8:30am - 4pm
Friday: 8:30am - 3:30pm

£7.55 per hour
