Tornado Wire are looking to recruit two Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprentices to join their team in September!
Over the last 50 years, Tornado Wire has become the name in quality fencing across the agricultural, equestrian, forestry and infrastructure sectors.
This is a great opportunity for an individual to gain real experience in a manufacturing environment as well as attaining an NVQ level 2.
What is on offer?
- On the job training along with a mixture of block and day-release attendance at Gen2 Ulverston in the first year.
- NVQ Level 2 in Lean Manufacturing operations to include the following modules: Manufacturing standard operation procedures development of lean processes, problem solving and continuous improvement techniques, communication, workplace organisation & safety awareness, use of hand tolls and hand fitting techniques.
Additionally, at the end of the apprenticeship, you will have:
- Competence in operating production equipment, machine setting and fault diagnosis.
- Understanding of core manufacturing Quality Control processes.
- Accredited Forklift Truck training.

- Good attitude and enthusiasm for working in a production environment.
- Evidence of a rounded personality and interests outside of school/college.
Working hours
Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
