Forth Engineering are looking to recruit a Level 3 Engineering Fitter Mechanical apprentice to join their team in September!

The post of apprentice Mechanical Fitter has responsibility for performing repairs, installation and service duties as required, on or off site.
The post is primarily technical, including mechanical and welding work associated with the company's activities. Health and safety responsibilities also form part of the role.
Key responsibilities and duties
- Investigate the nature of equipment failures and subsequently carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Carry out the installations, refurbishment and commissioning of mechanical equipment to specification and on time.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure correct tolerance and fits are maintained for efficient operations.
- Inspect, repair, install and test mechanical equipment in order to ensure that mandatory legislative requirements are met.
- Carry out an assessment of spares and materials required to complete work effectively, where necessary ordering additional items via the Supervisor.
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Carry out quality control inspections on the condition of the work carried out on and off site.
- Report any complications which may affect the delivery of the installation on time to your line manager.
- Maintaining site tidiness and general good housekeeping.
- Review general assembly and installation drawings.
- Attend call outs on a rota system with senior staff if required.
- Maintain accurate record relevant to operational activity.
- Assist with deliveries.
- Support the workshop supervisor in the overall running and development of Forths production activities and services.
- Undertake any other duties as consistent with the post.
